The Next School
We are a truly independent preparatory school. This means we stand alone and have no affiliations or ties to any senior schools. Some preparatory schools have an agenda to feed the high school to which they are attached. This can be a positive for some parents who already have a senior school in mind for their child.
We believe that the primary age is a time when a child develops the most. We pride ourselves on offering every child a tailor-made, bespoke education, but believe this does not end at the end of a school day or year. We aim to find the best possible school for your child at the end of their time here. We will advise you on the options and help place your child in the right high school for them.
Strong links have been established with all the schools in the area and some beyond. We boast a 100% success rate in achieving entry for our pupils into their first choice schools, many gaining scholarships. The senior schools our pupils have gained places in include, in alphabetical order:
Abbots Bromley School, Cheltenham Ladies’ College, Denstone College, Derby High School, Derby Grammar, Foremarke Hall (Repton Preparatory School), Loughborough High School for Girls, Loughborough Grammar, Mount St Mary’s College, Nottingham High School for Boys, Nottingham High School for Girls, Ockbrook School, Trent College.
It is a hugely important time for pupils and parents when deciding which school to choose next. We aim to assist parents with this decision at any time during their career at the Old Vicarage. It is our suggestion that the process of choosing the next school for your child begins from Year 4 with ‘Open Day’ and individual visits.
