As a child moves into Key Stage 2 at the age of 7, they will begin to experience teaching from additional subject teachers alongside their Class Teacher. They continue to work in combined classes allowing a greater depth of differentiation, especially in Mathematics and English. This allows pupils to be stretched and challenged, but at a pace to suit them. The children are taught in 30 minute periods, often receiving double period lessons in certain subjects.
