In Year 3 maths, the children explored measuring and converting between metres and centimetres. We began by using rulers to measure objects around the school, such as the length of the conservatory and the height of their desks. This helped the children practise choosing appropriate units and recording their measurements accurately.
The children were then given blocks and challenged to create different lengths, thinking carefully about how many centimetres or metres they were building.
To finish the lesson, the children decided it would be fun to see how high they could build their blocks. This activity was full of excitement and everyone enjoyed seeing whose structure could reach the highest!
